    December 12

    Mweeehhh

Yeah So I have had no time since the last blog to post anything. I had even half written a reveiw of the iPhone but like wats the pont, not like anynoe reads these things anyway.

Im so pissed off, I had to leave work early today cos im sick, and now im in bed dying. Meh meh meh.

    Sucks ass

Here i go again complaining about thing after what i said before.

Well screw that, this is MY blog and I will write about whatever the hell i want to write about.

Screw socuety, I can whine to the internet if i want -  try to stop me

Ahahahaha - i think i have been taken over by an emo after reading those last few self pitying sentence. I apologise..

    Well not really but meh

    Go away now, its over...

And i dont care about my spelling.
    November 19

    Back to uni...Again...

    So.

I Plan to return to university tomorrow which should be...stressful to be honest. Thankfully I shouldn't have to drive in which will save my feet some pain. I have about two weeks to do all my work, so I thought I would compile a list of things I still need to do.

    • Write 12 programs of increasing difficulty.
    • Create a Virtual Reality and 30 page report
    • 1 Microelectronics Homework
    • 2 Maths Class Tests
    • 2 Communications Labs
    • Possibly 4 other labs depending.
    • I think that's it...
So yeah I have tons of work to do.

But that's  enough about me. I have been thinking about blogs and they shouldn't all whiny and about all of someone's perosnal problems, becuase at the end of the day, who really wants to read about problems. So I have decided I am going to try and make this informative which should hopefully mean a lot more games reviews, and possibly short tech reviews, which I shall try and make as informative and un-biased as possible.

So from tomorrow I will try to makes regular blogs, in the hope that people might find it, and find it useful. I stress the word TRY because as you can see I do have a lot of work to do.

If this blog fails to be successful, I may start one elsewhere. Who knows! But i know Live Spaces isn't well up in the list of 'palces to look for information.'

So that's all for today, but if are reading this please check back tomorrow. I'll have something up thats new!

    November 14

    Hmmm.... This is new...

So yeah, I finally got around to re-installing XP on my Mac after I installed Leopard. I decided that as a test I would install some of these new Windows Live tools. As I speak I am using Windows Live Writer which is pretty nice actually though it could definitely use some refinements. Things like having the font size and type in an easily accessible place as opposed to having to go into the Format Menu.

Also as I type my dog Ben is slowing going insane, belting around the living room, and being a general annoyance. I may kill him...

So yeah, Leopard. There was a LOT of hype about it and in fairness, I was expecting it to be 10x better than it was, but I still like it. There are a lot of cool visual features, but also some really useful things. It's definitely a lot easier to use for non-advanced users, but some of the more advanced features, that made a Mac a Mac, have gone. The advanced firewall features aren't there, in fact I had a bit of trouble even finding the firewall settings. However, It makes up for it in networking, Connecting to Windows computers is very easy - it searches for the network computers, and they all appear in a list at the side of the finder window. Then you just click on it!

But yeah, that's enough of that.

Now, my absence over the last few weeks should be explained. I've been in hospital. I have missed four weeks off uni and four weeks off work so I have to spend ages working and catching up to all my university work.

    YAY!

Call of Duty 4 has been out for days now and I still haven't got it, However I have played the PC demo and its FREAKIN' AWESOME looking. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the Multiplayer is like. Also being released soon is Crysis, this week or next, and also Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance which I'm really looking forward too.

Crysis is fantastic, the graphics look fantastic in DirectX 9 and better in DirectX 10 though it really does hit your Graphics Card hard.

And SupCom Forged alliance...Well I really really wanted to get involved this time, but didn't have the time to play, so I think the BETA is almost over and I have played one match as the Seraphim.

Anyway that's enough of the geekiness for now. I'll leave you to get on with whatever you were doing in the first place.

Please check out my DeviantART if you have the time!! http://PyrO-PrOfessOr.deviantART.com

    October 15

    Meh

    Self-explanitory
    October 12

    Toothache, Programming and the like.

Well, The last week has been interesting to say the least....well to say the least would be to say it was a week...thats 7 days, 5 of which im at. But not this week. This week I was only at uni 3 days, one of which is actually today

'So why the skipping of universtiy??' I hear you cry. Well because the dentist decided it would be fun to destroy my face as he was filling my tooth. OK, In fairness my dentist is very good and very nice, but I am still in a lot of pain and with the inability to yawn properly, for the blinding pain it causes in the right hand side of my face.

So I thought I would used the time off (wednesday and thursday) to get started on my programming labs. First 2 were pretty simple, no real problems. However I can see that programming on my mac is going to cause some problems (mainly due to the folder structure being so differant from windows) when im programming.
I got to lab 3 and suddenly the difficulty jumps up by about 5 stages because you have to output data to a text file....which i've never done or even have a notion about doing. So as I sit here with the daylight creeping up around me (thats right, I was in uni at 7.50am today) I know i still have fopen() and fclose() to look forward to later.

Got around to playing Crysis and its fantastic. This game is what really makes you sound in the knowledge that it was worth spending £264 on a graphics card that would run it. In fairness I didn't buy the card for the game but i am happy I have a DirectX 10 enabled card. The details on the models are fantastic and it even loks good in DirectX 9 but way better in 10. The thing i like the most is the water. Which just looks fantastic. The explosions (when you run in hugh qulaity) are amazing, with some definite physics put into them. This Game lives up to its hype.

Also signed up for the Universe at War BETA, which is a new RTS game so I'll be tryin t hat out soon and letting you (like 3 people) know how it goes.
And I got the new FEAR demo too. If there is one game I fell in lvoe with it was FEAR, so I am hoping that this game lives up to its predecessors' good names.

Thats all from me for now I think because im really running out of thing to say.

    ~PyrO (if your from deviantART)

Stan (for those mad enough to know me)
    October 05

    So Very Very Tired....

I GOT INOT THE SUPREME COMMANDER: FORGED ALLIACE BETA!!!

    Oh Yes I Did!!

When I was invited I almost peed a little cos its a closed BETA (only certain epople allowed in). At this time yesterday I was one of only 2000 others (which is small considering the BETA is worldwide). now I am one of 2,732.

But Imagine my shock when I realised that it was only available to fileplanet or IGN subscribers. So I subscribed. And I do not regret it at all. It cost $11.95 (£6) and I was also able to get my hands on the Crysis online MultiPlayer BETA. wOOt!!

So SupCom. Everything that I love about it and more. For those of you who are, perhaps, lovers of the first game then I really don't think you will be disappointed with the Forged Alliance Pack. For those of you who don't know what I'm Talking about, Supreme Commander is a Real Time Strategy game set 1000 years (or so) in the future. Forged Alliance Is the 2nd game, and is being released as a standalone game because its so big.

So whats new? The UI is updated, There is a new playable faction (the Seraphim don't you know), new units, better graphics etc. It does look fantastic, Especially the Seraphim. I don't know if I'm allowed to post screenshots. (because it's a BETA they may be 'classified' or something) so I cant show you but I suggest you waitch the video below.
The UI (User Interface) Is very different from the first one too, with everything sort of floating on your screen, which means that when you have nothing selected, you have an entire screen full of the battlefield, allowing you to get into the game more (it really does draw you in) The new faction includes everything you would come to expect from a new faction, and are extremly powerful and awesome. They look sotra like the Aeon but with much shinier buildings (which seems to have a bad effect on grapics cards.)

Now obviously this is a BETA and has not been fully optimised but my overclocked 8800GTS really took a hit from this game. At the start I was getting about 40 fps (using FRAPS) but with motion on the screen, and as my base started to get bigger, this dropped to unplayable frame rates (under 24fps) This was at high settings with medium shdaows and 8x Anti-aliasing. After I while I had to drop the settings to medium, which solved the problem. It still looked good but not as good. I'm sure the problem will be sorted when I get my 2nd 8800GTS but I think when the game is released it will be more optimised or will at least have a decent patch.

I'm not sure if there are any new units for the other factions, but from the videos I've seen (below) there seems to be, but yesterday I was only experimenting with the Seraphim.

I think thats everything about that really. It is a fantastic game but to enjoy it to the max you need a good PC.

Here's my specs incase you're curious:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHZ @ 3.2GHz
    Asus P5N32-E SLi
    2GB DDR2 RAM @800MHz
    BFG 640MB 8800GTS OC2
    1x500GB HD and 1x250GB HD

I'll update you about the Crysis MP BETA when i get round to playing it but i've heard it hits the computer even harder! Meh.

Other Than that, life aint tooo bad. My car is crap but thats normal. I'm in a bit of a rush so some of the spelling in this may suck but I'll check back later on and tidy up any mistakes or anything that doesn't make sense.

    September 27

Well now, we call this the act of mating...

Yeah, Ignore the title, I'm just a bit strange.

I'm Back to uni now and thought that since I'm here I might as well take the time to update this. After all, it sure beats the hell out of working. In the time that i have been away there have been a few changes in my status and such so let me run through   what you've missed out on.

    Computer

I Finally got Vista installed and running stably on my PC. I also made another few changes such as a new case. Actually thats about it.. Ooo no wait I also purchased a 500GB hard drive just because I needed the extra space. Yes, And most important of all, I got higher spped broadand. About 4Mbit but it never runs at more that 2.5Mbit.

    Geekiness

This rating has probably tripled ouver the summer as i have endulged in geeky t-shirts and have spend virtually all of my free time playing games an/or doing stuff on my PC. I also went a bit torrent crazy when i got the faster internet and download all 7 seasons of Star Trek Voyager. I am currently on Season 5 epidsode 3. Also downloaded a bunch of movies...Torrents are good. Almost completed Bioshock too. And now I'm inwardly laughing at a First year who can't use the engineering computers. I laugh...shes on the fone for help...awww bless..Yes that's right, I am a mean person.

    Gamerness

I Gave in and bought an XBox 360. Now on Live and play a lot of gears of war and sometimes when i can be bothered, Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow 6: Las Vegas however I'm sure Halo 3 will start to take up more of my time.My Gamercard is below if you want it Open-mouthed

    Put your gamertag here too.

Also ordered an 8800GTS for my PC which should be arrving at my house shortly. Running out of time so ill be quick now.

    Love

Kendal and I have been going out for over a year and a month. Cna't wait to see her this weekend!

    Driving

Passed My driving test on the 2nd attempt and out on the roads in my awesome (NOT!) Skoda Felicia (that girl is now walking up and down the rows of computers randomly...)

    Creativity

I became creative last week when i was off sick and started a deviantART account. Check it out here. Its moslt digital and Fractal art. More will be coming soon.

Can't think of much else now, so I'll report back....Whenever I can be bothered.

    ...and I give in...

Well after humming and hahing, I have relented to the monster that is Windows Vista

    Or so I thought...

So it began yesterday (Tuesday - I know its not wednesday anyomre but I havn't slept yet so therefore it is) when i decided it was time to do my monthly PC clearout. Technically it was monday night or really early tuesday morning lol. I cleaned all the old files etc with Disk CleanUp, then decided to do a full scandisk before defragmenting it. As I knew a chkdisk would take forever, I set it to run on next computer startup and went to bed.

So I wake up on tueday morning (really late for me actually, almost 12) and turn on the PC, It whirs into life and begins the checkdisk, I check back an hour later to find the PC at stage 4 at 17%. OK I thinks, and go away for another half hour and come back...still at stage 4, 17%. By this time i reckon that something is up a decide to hit the button that is the friend of all computer enthusiasts....the reset button. So reboot the computer goes, and into scan disk agaon only this time I'm ready (or so I think) I hit enter to skip the scandisk, but nothing happens. I'll give it a chance, I think, and waited. 5 mins later there was it stuck again at 17%. I tried rebooting again but this time I checked the BIOS and disabled the Plug 'n' Play OS setting (the stops the computer detecting your hardware at startup and leaves it to windows to do). This time i bypasses the check disk and windows began to boot

I say began because thats as far as it got before it rebooted....

Feck it, I thinks, and reaches for my trusty Volume licence XP Service Pack 2 disk. I repair the XP istallation and it install windows. Windows goes to boot then restarts again, and again, and again...

Screw this I think....Enter Window Vista Business 64-Bit edition

Insstalled No problem, except when it came to activation. As I had used it before, but changed all my hardware since then, it thought it had been registered on another computer. A quick free call to microsoft set it straight though and now its activated and legal.
When I had first used Vista it had looked really sweeet but performed pretty badly. However, It seemed that that was just hardware support problems. Now I'm using (mostly) top of the range hardware, Vista had no problems. It completely supportds my SLi (which really suprised me) and runs all my hardware (except possibly, my webcam) perfectly. The webcam problem is more due to the 64-bit operating system rather than the 32-bit one but I'm hoping to get my hands on a 32-but copy soon enough.

Anyway to cut a long story short I'm now running on Windows Vista which should be interesting. Also, now I'm running 64-bit, that shoud also be interesting too, as some new games don't support 64-bit operating systems.

    I'll keep you updated

Also, I'm in an awful lot of pain as I totally screwed up my back on the trampoline, and the rest of my body on the Nintendo Wii...My body isn't designed for exercise...

Man this game looks to sweeet-assed! First Supreme Commander and now this?! RTS Overload!!

I had written a whole lot about how much I loved both games but for different reasons, but MSN deleted it cos its stupid so I'll do it another time when I'm not meant to be revising

Check it all out here - the screenshots below are ingame!! I likes it alot.

P.S. For fullsize screenshots check out the website!!
    May 17

    Gah!

How is it that your really well prepared up untill the last few hours when you suddenly realised your screwed? I mean i revised pretty well for this upcoming exam (electronics) and I decided I might try on of his past papers just cos I had nothing else to do. So in with the iPod out with the exam...and I looked...

Well question 1 and 3 were OK. Question two was a bit complicated but if i thought about it I could have probably done it. Question 4 and 5 however....Well in the 2006 paper question 4 was OK - it was on diodes and that was grand. But question 5 was something to do with an Op Amp amd ot definatly wasn't in our notes and if it was it probably couldnt be found due to the large amount of crap placed within them. I swear theres so much orrelevant stuff in those notes - Im sure he knows what he's on about but the notes are just dis jointed and abstarct. Anyway back to the papers

After the 2006 paper I thought I'd take a look at the 2005 paper.1-3 were OK but 4 & 5 were flippin' awful!! This time there was a transistor question. I used the notes and applied the equations as he had demonstrated and guess what, His answers were completely differant (in the soloutions this is). Not only that but - like half the soloutions given by lecturers - they were incomplete, in that they give u the answer but they wont show you the working. I mean, WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT!! How are we supposed to learn the stuff if proper worked examples arent given, or worked soloutions. It's just lecturers being LAZY!!

Argh! Now I'm freaking out a bit because, well while i reckon i could answer 3 questions I'm totally afraid of getting something random thats going to lose me loads of marks, And I actually put some effort into this exam!!

    Why do I even bother?
    May 15

    Exams, XBox's and UFO's....

Well, Here I am, it's beena little while since i posted a proper entry. I say this because the last entry was only put there so i could download files from that website. They demanded you have a link to their page, and of course they had to check it. What I was actually downloading was a spiderman cartoon maker that I had on my very first Windows based pc. Its absolutely brilliant only, my computer is too fast to run it, So when your animating, a 5 second scene flies past in about 1/2 second literally!

And now onto business. Recently you have heard me talk a lot about the new computer i built. Yes it is awesome and but I also think I'm goiung to buy an xBox. "But surely your computer gives you graphics just as smooth, if not smoother than an xBox, all at 1440 x 900 res?!", I hear you cry silently. This is true, but I really wanna play online with all my friends, and when you can get an:

            • xBox 360 + 20GB Hard Drive, Headset, Wireless controller, HD Cables
            • Extra Wireless Controller
            • Gears of War
            • Crackdown
            • Project Gotham Racing
            • xBox Live Arcade

So thats All for £289.99 when the premium system (the top bullet) costs £279.99 all on it's own, you can't be bad to it. Pluis greg works at Gane and can save me a kackl;oad on wireless adabtop for internet, and Rainbow Six: Las Vegas. So thats all good. Also looking at an HD TV at the minute too (I plan to turn the attic into my console zone). £250 for a 720p, 1080i 27" AOC LCD TV. Not too bad really  as it has HDMI inputs, component and VGA too. I get my bonus next weekso once i pay my tax and insurance i have a funny feeling the rest will go on something like this.

Today, I am currently waiting for My CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) exam to start. I believe it starts at 11.30 or 12.00, and lasts for an hour and a half. I thought it was 11 but apparently I'm wrong and john scared me this morning by rhyming off a whole bunch of stuff to me that I'd never heard before!!Meh, It should be ok though.

Electronics is on Thursday which scares me slightly more, so going home today to revise my ass off - I really have to try and motivate myself.....Hmmm, my iPod headfones are up left again tho i seemed to have temporarily fixed them. The left one was being gay and crackly...May have been my fault but if it gets bad again im gonna send them back to Apple again...

    hehe I just downloaded 700MB in 16mins at 750KB/s

Recently I heard that UFO's were spotted over bangor. 3 orange lights were reported to the BBC. It seems something similar happened over London a few weeks ago. It amazes me how people automatically assume that UFO means Aliens! UFO, means Unidentified Fly(ing ) Object. So if I was to throw a brick at you, and you couldn't work out what it was, then its a UFO. In this case it was thought it could be a Kongming latern. These had been released at a wedding in London and were the explanation for the last UFO sighting. Was it the same thing over Bangor?? The Kongming latern was technically the First hot air balloon, and it seems to be a flaming ball of something suspended under a paper bag from what I have seen anyway.

So I'll leave you with that thought tongiht...or today..

    Whatever....

    Check it out....

Found this really kickass site with tons of like old games and suff

    Freaking awesome!!!
    April 30

    Ooooo Shiny...

So I built my new computer yesterday!! It freaking rocks and runs really smoothly. I tried a bit of overclocking last nite but its a touch more complicated than it was with my old computer as there are waaaay more options. but i had it kinda stable at 2.8GHz fir a while which isnt too bad at all!

The lighting in it looks awesome (pics to come when I'm not in uni) and...well I really like it, most of my friends don't seem to care . The graphics cards for it should hopefully be here about friday or maybe next week but i ordered two 512MB XFX 7950GT XXX cards. I ended up getting them off ebay because nowhere over here that I like to buy from had any stock of them!!

As for building the computer itself, it wasnt too hard. I could of done with a few more screw holders on the base of my case (the pins that the mother board screws onto) as the boards isnt completely secured but like 7 of 9 (hehe) screws are in place. fitting the CPU was as wasy as pie, though i struggled a bit with the Heatsink but got it in the end (after almost bending one of the pin things that holds it in...). Could do with some new thermal compound though as I kinda screwed up the stuff thats on now.
RAM was grand as where the graphics card though cabling was a bit annoying, but got it sorted in the end. Hope to get pics up pretty soon.

What else is going on....Yeah, My exams are coming up and I havnt really started revising yet, I don't have a clue what I'm doing!! Also our group has a project for the 11th May that we havn't actually started yet. I'm very scared. I have to chose my modules for next year too. None look very interesting but along with the compulsary maths, I'm going to choose microelectronics, analouge circuit design, virtual reality systems, Advanced C2 and communications (eugh) and I'm nt even gna start with the 2nd semester.

Well this is turning out to be a rather long entry and all I really wanted to do was preach about how cool my computer is. And speaking of preaching, Extravagant woship was cool on saturday night (well actually it was really warm but... you catch my drift...)

What about my life in general....Ummmm yeah its ok. Havn't seen Kendal in what feels like ages although its only been 3 weeks. Really looking forward to the new spiderman movie but not looking forward to the large amounts of work I have to do before I allow myself to go. Just going to have to stay away from the awesome computer now  Well at least I got it built!

Right time to go do something completely unessecary and uncontructive.

    Byeeee
    April 23

    Back to School...

Well uni to be completely correct. Right now im browsing the internet as my lecture this morning was cancelled...meaning i cuda stayed in bed...but then I would have had to walk in the rain which would not have been good...

    So whats been happening??

    Well a few things really:

    1. I orderded my Motherboard, PSU, Case lights, Fans and Heatsink this morning from www.scan.co.uk costing me that grand total of £270 inc. delivery. Can't wait for them to arrive - Should be Wednesday.
    2. I got my new mobile phone (free upgrade woo) on wednesday and its pretty schweeet too. Samsung D840. Really nice jsut a few minor annoyances with it - It won't vibrate and ring at the same time, you cant change the message tone from the defaults, and the camera tends to over expose and blur your images, but then again i didnt get it for the camera. Other than that its grand!
    3. I have finally decided which graphics cards to buy after a lot of research however their stock seems to be pretty limited. Scan doesnt seem to get any so I gotta buy from ebuyer...Which iI've never used but seems pretty good. Its an nVidia 7950GT (well two of them really ) and they've been pre-overclocked to run at 600MHz and have 512MB of RAM too!
    4. I overclocked my Graphics cards last night and they run really well...get quite hot tho and its bad because nVidias shows their threshold temp at 130C which seems a bit high to me, but they run at about 70C/63C respectively. And no artifacts with the cores running at 610MHz and an effective memory speed of 1.2GHz Does seem to make a bit of difference though.

I understand that most of you won't understand this but I just decided to talk techy for a bit.

I'm still missing Kendal like crazy but thats not really news as much as 'Current Affaris"

I feel that deserves a "LOL"

What else....Yeah, I've only been back at uni a few hours and already I have realised that the only good things about the place is the fast internet access. Theres very little wireless access meaning i can't really use my mac and classes just suck ass...Too much like work and not enough enjoyment!

Also I Dread the thought of my exams, and the ton of homework I also have to do.

Well at least I have my ipod...Music makes the voice go away...

    heh..heh..heh..heh..heh...

Thats right, The dawn service is at 6.15am today (its after midnight now) which means i have to get up in less that 5 hours.... and yet here I am. "Are you insane?", I hear you think! Well, perhaps I am.

Damn, there should of been some argument there for me not being insane...O well.

Well, after a lot of thought, and more importantly, a lot of playing i have decided that I am going to get an xbox 360...

    *shock*

Now I know many people have heard me bad m.uth the xbox 360, but most of my assumptions were based on that of the xbox, which was indeed balls. However after much playing and talking and researching I have found the error in my ways, cos its actually pretty darn good.

first of all, I can plug it into my monitor meaning i don't actually have to buy an HD tv cos it works out about HD quality.
Second of all, Hard drives rock.
Third of all, Xbox Live means that for £35 i can get downloads of movie trailers and tv shows and stiff for a year, unlimited...Its so cool

Plus we should be gettin faster broadband soon which will sweeten the deal

I'm going to go for the full works. Premium console, wireless adapter (possibly, but i have a 5-port switch in my room), vga cable, rechargeable controller packs, cover and some games (rainbow 6 LV, CoD 3, Gears of War) etc.

At this point i'd like to mention the strange rumbling from downstairs....

And going to get my motherboard too.

In other financial related news, i was surprised to hear my car would cost a lot less to fix than i thought which makes me smile inside.

Well I'm sure there plenty more to talk about like how much i miss Kendal and how much i want to be with her but i also want sleep and awful lot and im sure u dont want to hear me whining on about how lovesick i am!

So, Ill talk to you soon!!

    Building...Building...Building a PC for meeeee....

So I got bored this morning and decided to take a look at new PC parts and for the princely sum of $975.96 (not inc. shipping I Think) I can get my hands on a new motherboard, a couple of new graphics cards and a new PSU. for those of you who care here is a list:

    2x 512MB EVGA GeForce 7950GT KO Pre-Overclocked (600MHz) Graphics Cards

    Price
    $259.99 (2x)
    $519.98 = £263.13

ASUS P5N32-E SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

    Price
$209.99 = £106.27  (Edit: This is a fecking awesome price but turns out they dont ship to the     UK...What a surprise)

Coolermaster RS-850-EMBA Real Power 850 Pro 850w Power Supply

    Price
    $245.99 - £124.48

    Total:
    $975.96 = £493.88

Is this to much to spend on re-vamping my PC? Also I'm wondering if maybe I should get an xBox 360 instead...I mean they are pretty good, but part of me just doesn't think I'd justify playing it although everyone says I would....

I dunno, I just love having a really fast computer, and at the minute, even a new motherboard would speed the whole thing up....maybe I should just get the motherboard and the graphics cards can stay as they are, and use the rest of the dosh to get a 360...I got about £500 set aside so...

Actually I kinda like that idea because the new motherboard would increase the graphics speed two-fold as it supports 2x 16x SLi....mmmm bandwidth....

Meh well, I should go spend time with my gorgeous girlfriend (who is sitting right beside me...watching me write this and is probably bored out of her skull but to polite to say *nervous smile*) As i've only got *whispers* a few more days left with her

    Later all

(Just occured to me that Kendal and Jonny are the only people who sign this (and sometimes Greg) so I dno why im even writing this but meh, i like to talk to randomers)

    Continuing on....

Ahhh, now i have a touch more free time I shall inform you of one other thing thats pretty cool.

    Torrents

They're underated by most people and under used too, but there freaking awesome. Limewire works on the torrent basis but isnt as advanced as a program such as Bitlorf.

The principle of a torrent is this:

        1. You goto a torrent listing and search for what you wish to download
        2. You search from the results for the correct thing, Then find the file with the most amount of seeders or peer (these are people on the internet who are sharing the completed file. The other type are leachers or downloaders which are people who are currently downloading the file, but sharing what they have)
        3. You dowload the torrent file (about 3 secs worth) and then use a program such as azureus of Bitlord (the best) to open it.
        4. Downloading starts automatically!

This method tends to be faster than programs such as Limewire or Kazaa and theres much more stuff you can find more easily. Plus theres loadsa movies you can get etc etc!

    Just don't pirate games....cos they're awesome!

    This must be quick...

OK, My labs are in 4mins so i really must fly through this quickly so excuse the spelling and ill maybe fix it later.

just a few this to say:

      1. Labs Suck Ass, cos its always cold and boring
      2. I got paid today
      3. Kendal is coming over tomorrow
      4. I am going to have to get a couple of 7900GT's or 7950GT's as 7900GTX's cost upwards of £449 each
      5. I want my student loan now
      6. Hopefully playing Supreme Commander again tonight
      7. I must go as my labs start now!!

    Later!!

    March 27

I went to a party last saturday night...

Ok well actually I didn't but it just happens to be what im listening to. As usual I was late this morning due to mums super amazing ability to not get her ass out of her bed. So now I'm missing electric instrumentation. Theres really no point in going when you this lae as you jsut get lost. I mean I ask for one 9 o'clock lecture a week thats it..."Oh, thats no problem..".

    Yeah right.

In other news Jonny bought an xbox 360, which means the time has come for me to consider upgrading my PC so it'll kick there asses in frame rates. I'm thinking about:

            • Asus P5N32-E SLI nforce 680i motherboard
            • 2x nVidia 7900GT or 7950GX2's
            • Maybe some new RAM if i have enought money, probably some Corsair RAM

But I may hold off, it depends. I mean really one 7950GX2 would probably do but while writing this im looking at how the Asus EN7950GX2 faired in SLi (its actually quad SLi as each graphics card has two GPU's (Graphics processing unit (I tihnk)) and 2 x 2 = 4 hence the Quad).

Also I can't find any prices...but they have 512MB RAM each...which for those of you who are mathmatically challenged is a masive 2GB ot graphics RAM!!

    I want...

Im currently tuning my PC at home using nTune on a 6hours cycle...Last time I did that it destroyed winodws but it should be ok, it lasted most of last night so im sure it will be fine. Thing is it never ever finishes its tests. it gets to 0hours and 0mins and then doesnt do muche except restart every 5mins....

Well I have to wait and see.

Edit: On second looks, it may have to be a couple of 7900GTX's, the GX2's seem to suck compared to these and doesn't seem to be worth the price difference (when in SLi of course)
